Student essay competition

UKCLE’s student essay competitions (part of the Higher Education Academy’s Student Awards) attract interest from around the UK. We have held six competitions to date and previous winning essays can be accessed through the left-hand menu.

2011 competition

We are pleased to announce that the 2011 competition is now open. Entries are warmly invited from students registered with a course of study in law at undergraduate level in a UK public higher education institution.

  • Title: Is the law degree fit for purpose?
  • Format: 1000 word essay
  • Deadline for entries: Friday, 25th March 2011
  • Prize: Winner £300 Apple Gift Card and an invitation to the Higher Education Academy’s annual conference. Runner-up £100 Apple Gift Card.

Entries should be submitted in Microsoft Word format and emailed by the deadline to Melanie Hughes. A completed entry form (downloadable below) must also be attached to the email.

Winners will be notified by email on or before 29 April 2011.
